SPRING 2027 · 10U | 12U | 14U · COED · SUNDAYS · SOUTH SALEM HIGH · INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION
A new way to play football is coming to the Salem/Keizer community!
NFL FLAG provides boys and girls with an exciting, fast-paced, no-contact football experience where athletes can learn the game, develop their skills, make new friends, and compete—all while representing an NFL team.
Registration Opens December 1
Registration Closes February 1
You don't need to find a team or bring an entire roster.
Parents register their individual player, and we take care of building the teams.
This makes NFL FLAG a great option for experienced football players and kids who have never played organized football before. Players can simply register, show up, meet their teammates, and play.
📍 South Salem
🏈 Games: Sundays
⏱️ Practice: One hour per week before your game
📅 Season Begins: Sunday, March 7
🏆 Championship Weekend: Top two teams from each division advance to the championship
🐰 Easter Weekend: No games March 28
The regular season will consist of five weeks of games, followed by a championship weekend for the top two teams in each division.
Keeping practices and games on the same day helps make NFL FLAG easier for busy families. Players will practice for one hour before their scheduled game rather than requiring families to make multiple trips during the week.
NFL FLAG is open to boys and girls, with three coed age divisions offered for our inaugural season:
10U | 12U | 14U
Division placement is determined using the player's age as of August 1 of the current season year.
All experience levels are welcome.
Every registered player receives an official NFL FLAG team jersey and an NFL FLAG belt and flags.
Teams will be formed after registration, and players will be assigned to an NFL team for the season.
Getting started with flag football doesn't require a lot of equipment.
NFL FLAG Jersey
Provided with registration.
NFL FLAG Belt & Flags
Provided to every player.
Pocketless Shorts or Leggings
Players should wear shorts or leggings without pockets. This keeps flags clearly visible and helps prevent fingers from getting caught while attempting to pull a flag.
Mouthguard
Provided to every player. Required protective equipment. Having a backup mouthguard in your player's bag is always a good idea.
Football Cleats
Cleats are recommended, but metal cleats are not allowed.
Water Bottle
Every player should bring their own water bottle to practices and games.
Football Gloves — Optional
Some players prefer gloves for additional grip, but they are not required.
Your child does not need previous football experience to play NFL FLAG.
Flag football is an excellent introduction to the game because players can learn throwing, catching, running routes, defense, teamwork, and football fundamentals without tackling.
Experienced football players benefit too. The fast-paced format provides an opportunity to improve footwork, passing, receiving, coverage, and overall football IQ.
Beginners are welcome. Experienced players are welcome. Boys and girls are welcome.
Our teams will be coached primarily by parent volunteers.
You don't need years of coaching experience or an extensive football background to help. Coaches will have access to NFL FLAG coaching resources, training videos, playbooks, and additional tools designed to make coaching simple and enjoyable.
If you've ever considered coaching but weren't sure where to start, this is a great opportunity to get involved with your child's team.
This is the beginning of something new for youth football in the Salem/Keizer community.
We're excited to bring the official NFL FLAG program to local families and create an environment centered around fun, competition, development, sportsmanship, and giving kids an opportunity to play football.
